LoopScripts

These scripts are for film/television productions of thirty minutes or less. They are in various states of development.

I have been criticized for writing detailed stage directions and shot descriptions. My opinion is that a script should read as literature as well as being a blueprint for production. Perhaps this criticism comes from the widespread practice of "script skimming" (if they read it at all). I write scripts as I visualize the scenes, and when you read them, try to make the movie in your mind.

Crazy Mr. Guggenheim An outline for a public relations video, seen through the eyes of a seven-year-old.
Bill's Matinee For Nickelodeon, A boy brings the adventure/fantasy of the movies along for his walk home. All the weapons/settings/characters are fantasy, Bill plays all parts (except his mother).
Bright Lights and Summer Nights An outline for a television pilot/series based on my experiences in summer theater in Warren, Ohio. I think the innocence of the piece, the ethnicity and the vernacular is what held it back. I should have made the theater a cover for a team of high-tech, super hip undercover cops.
See The Music I have always wanted to do a beautiful short film, and I started by submitting this piece to the A.F.I. a long time ago. It has undergone many rewrites, I guess, because I wanted to make it clear that this is a film analog to poetry. Maybe too highfalutin'! It hasn't been out of the drawer in a long time, but I enjoy rereading it and sometimes adding those midnight inspirations. This script runs about 20 pages. I suggest you use the option "Save to a text file", and read it off-line.

...More scripts to come. If you're inspired and have a "barn", I have some folding chairs, let's "put on a show!" You can contact me by email.
